C. S. Hawkins, M.S., OTR (known as Carol), is an occupational therapist, writer, and caregiver advocate. She first earned a degree in architecture and raised two children before following her calling to help others. At forty, she earned her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

Carol met her husband, Steve, while volunteering at a gym for people with disabilities. Steve has lived with a spinal cord injury for more than forty years, and together they understand that caregiving is a true labor of love.

They enjoy traveling the country and sharing their stories of inspiration, preparation, and hope. Carol’s mission is to help families stay informed, organized, and connected to the Heart Behind the Care.
